Culture and Communication as Partners in Regulatory Processes, Part 1

Presented by Judith Colbert

As communities become more culturally diverse, licensors are increasingly required to interact with people from different cultures who communicate differently. To avoid misunderstandings and support enforcement, licensors need to understand how culture and communication influence regulatory processes. This two-part presentation* provides an overview of culture and communication and shows how increased awareness can increase the likelihood of compliance with licensing requirements and promote positive outcomes for providers and their clients.

The first webinar, Part 1: Culture as a Factor in Human Care Regulation, proposes a definition of culture and illustrates how an understanding of the way culture is communicated can help licensors identify and assess diversity in regulatory situations.

The cost for this webinar recording is $45 for members and $60 for non-members.
