NARA COMMITTEES

The by-laws of NARA highlight that leadership and oversight is to be provided by standing and ad hoc committees.  The following committees are currently serving the Association.

  • The Administration and Bylaws Committee is charged with developing, monitoring, and maintaining the organizational and operational functions of the Board of Directors and its committees.
  • The Finance and Asset Management Committee is responsible for the control and general supervision of the association’s finances. 
  • The Nominating Committee recommends a slate of nominees for every position on the Board of Directors scheduled to be vacated.
  • The Membership Committee studies and recommends programming to the Board of Directors relating to the building and maintenance of membership in NARA.  The committee will focus on developing membership through recruitment and retention programs and conduct current and ongoing evaluations of member services.
  • The Seminar Committee is responsible for the planning, implementation and presentation of NARA’s annual conference and seminar.
  • The Professional Development and Education Committee offers guidance to the Association on the development and implementation of a comprehensive system of appropriate education and credentialing programs and services.  
  • The NARA Instructor/Consultant Approval Subcommittee reviews applications and approves instructors/consultants for the menu of services contracted by states and organizations.
  • The Awards and Professional Recognition Committee recognizes and rewards the accomplishments of leaders in the field of human care licensing and regulatory administration encourages high levels of competency in licensing and regulatory personnel and promotes the professional development of persons in licensing regulatory administration.
  • The Editorial Board coordinates and manages the development and issuance of the “NARA Licensing Newsletter”.
